Iowa Master Gardeners Make an Impact


The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program volunteers help extend consumer horticulture science with practice through there local county extension offices.  Here are two summaries of how Master Gardeners impacted Iowa communities in 2016, and an announcement of Growing Together grants for 2017.

Required Morel Mushroom Identification Workshops Offered in April 2017

Certification will allow vendors to sell morel mushrooms in Iowa.
 
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a three-hour class for anyone interested in being certified to sell morel mushrooms legally within the state of Iowa. Workshops will be available on three consecutive Saturdays in April on the Iowa State campus.
 

61st Annual Iowa State University Shade Tree Short Course


As perennial as the bur oak, and dependable as the tolling of the campanile on central campus, we again come to the time of year when arborists, nursery and landscape professionals, and tree lovers in general gather for the ISU Shade Tree Short Course.
