High-Sugar Sweet Corn
One of the delights of summer in the midwest is fresh sweet corn. Unfortunately, the ears of standard sweet corn varieties (su) retain their quality for only 1 or 2 days in the garden as the sugar is quickly converted to starch. Additionally, standard sweet corn varieties don't store well once harvested.
Silverfish
The moderately-common and well-known silverfish are a wingless, flat insects with two long, slender antennae on the front and three long, slender "bristles" at the rear of a tapered, carrot-shaped body. They are PI inch long when fully grown. The body is covered with shiny silver scales.
