The International Master Gardener Conference, Horticultural Horizons in the Heartland, will be held September 22–25 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. The 3-day event is co-hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension, and features nearly 100 educational and hands-on workshops, nine tours of nearby gardens and attractions, and a gardener’s trade show. The Master Gardener “Growing Season” webinar series will be offered at multiple locations across Iowa during June, July and August. The webinars are open to all interested gardeners; participants are not required to have completed master gardener training to attend. Topics to be included are: theme gardens, planting trough gardens, water features and conservation, attracting butterflies and bees, and growing herbs.
