It's all well and good to read about a new disease that is sweeping the nation, but when it hits close to home is when you start to really pay attention.
The photo below is from my front yard earlier this summer. The impatiens went from beautiful, lush and colorful to straggly stems in 3 days. They look even worse now!
I should have paid more attention to my colleagues and avoided those inexpensive 6-packs of pretty impatiens transplants. Lesson learned!
