Bed Bug Resource Available

The National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH) in February published a 37-page guide on bed bug treatments titled, "What’s Working for Bed Bug Control in Multifamily Housing: Reconciling Best Practices With Research And The Realities Of Implementation." Though specifically written for multiple-family housing, the information is a good review for all types of housing where bed bug treatment is considered.  The guide describes and reviews the available treatment options from mattress encasements to heat treatment to insecticide application and lists pros and cons for each method. Particularly useful is the Executive Summary and table on pages 1 and 2 comparing management methods, retail costs, and compatibility.

The bed bug guide is available on-line from the NCHH website www.nchh.org. Click on the search box and type in the name "bed bug."
